Lahore In USA !!

Lahore is a small town in Orange country, Virginia in the United States of America, named after the provincial capital of the Punjab, Pakistan. Located about 75 miles from the Washington.
It was established by the American couple in 1980 who chose its name from (the then) british India.
The story got Pakistan's media attention by the Pakistani American Journalist who wrote a story about it in Urdu daily news paper. However, the story got lost in the peoples mind. In 2007 another journalist broke the story with a news that a Pakistani wanted to buy the town.

Noor Naghmi son of a very well known broadcaster Abul Hassan Naghmi bought the American Lahore to the news once again in 2007. After a long negotiations with Nancy Wallace, a tought negotiator who owned the 235 acres of American Lahore including the center of the town. Naghmi was able to strike the deal for USD 3 million. It was however not an easy venture to buy the land from an owner who had no plans to sell the land. although "Everything is have is for sale. for the right price", she said.

Naghmi now has the plans to turn the Lahore, Virginia into a regional tourist attraction for the people from South Asia and others. His plans includes a banquet hall designed after the famous Shalimar gardens and a library along with a museum dedicated to the histories of both Lahores. He wants to open a restuarant with Lahori dishes and organise a basant festival.
